Building your Customer Database with Mobile Marketing

It is much more effective to market to a customer who has given you their details than searching for new customers. It is therefore very important to give all current and potential customers an opportunity to become part of your customer database.

We offer some tips on how to use Mobile Marketing to build your customer database.

Point of Sale

Some businesses will ask for your details at the point of sale, add your name, email and phone to a list or enter into an iPad at the counter. We have found that staff can be a little reticent to ask customers for their details when they have just handed over their hard earned money.

There are less intrusive ways to do it using Mobile Marketing

Mobile Keywords

A mobile keyword is a code on a shortcode number which identifies your business. For example our mobile keyword is SENDMODE. Customers can text SENDMODE to the shortcode 51444 and they will be automatically added to our newsletter list. It is totally unobtrusive and customers can text whenever they wish.

Once you have a mobile keyword you can add “Text XXXX to 51444 to join our exclusive list and receive special offers” to all your marketing material; flyers, newspaper ads even your business cards.

Your Website

Your website is your global shop and another opportunity to build you customer database. While ideally you would get orders from consumers directly from your website, some may not be ready to purchase just yet. Why not offer them a way to keep abreast of upcoming events by asking them to enter some details; name, email and mobile for example.

With over 7 years’ experience in the Mobile Marketing business and more than 20,000 happy customers from all kinds of business sectors, we would love nothing more than to show you how Mobile Marketing and Mobile Keywords can benefit your business, increase your customer database, drive sales and increase customer engagement.
